There are so many types of seafood, and as a consumer, it’s next to impossible to remember and keep up with which fish is sustainable and which isn’t. This complexity leads many people to just not pay attention at all. And when this happens, our consumer choices fail to direct companies towards more sustainable production practices.
The Monterey Bay Seafood Watch Programme makes it easy to tell whether the fish you’re about to eat is sustainable.
It uses an easy green/orange/red scoring system to grade the sustainability of the fish.
Simply type in the name of the fish, and it gives you a color.
Green means go, red means stop.
